Hi

Hopefully not an idiotic suggestion but I can see that there is a need for a premium service for some GA pilots which could be provided by Sky Demon. Specifically a live experienced pilot on hand to help you plan, brief and monitor a flight from the ground.

I have been flying for a long time and monitor 121.5 when driving my orage bus around the uk and it is worrying how often ga pilots get themselves lost or low on fuel or fly through controlled airspace. I am not throwing stones, we have all been there in the first 100 hrs or so and even later in ones career getting into a GA aircraft can lead to the discovery that its a big sky and the uk and parts of Europe quite featureless.

Sky Buddy would review a plan before flight, involve a phone call to the pilot to run through a checklist of issues prior to getting airborne and then an enhanced monitoring service during the course of the flight. Should the aircraft drift off course the buddy sends a message to alert the pilot or perhaps remind them to stick to the basics, fly and accurate heading and at the appointed leg time your turning point should be in view. Post flight a de brief by phone.

Could be run from home by retired pilots to keep an eye on those who are new to flying and or perhaps do not fly that much over the course of a year.
